Makeup and Hair:

ALL Mice, For each performance (not the dress rehearsal) please send your dancer  with foundation on (no powder) and hair in a traditional "cinabon" style bun (see photo above). We will apply the rest of the makeup backstage before the show.  For every performance we apply makeup in using disposable tools to keep the process hygienic for your child allowing us to maintain uniformity for the dancers. A few items are very difficult to apply using disposable tools and we ask that you send them with your dancer labeled with their name or initials in a clear ziplock bag.

Waterproof liquid black eyeliner (any brand)
Black eyeliner pencil (any brand)
Optional
Waterproof black mascara (we do have disposable wands)

Angels, Fairies, Party Girls and Soldiers, Just a reminder that the dancers should come to the performances with foundation only and apply their make-up backstage.  Hair (for Angels, Fairies and Soldiers) should be fixed in a high bun to accommodate the headpiece (like the photo above). There will be studio personnel and parents their to assist and check their make-up. The eyeliner "wings" will be applied by studio personnel to keep the thickness and length consistent. (We are considering a wing tutorial for dancers who are ready to apply their own).

Sara Velarde will be holding a tutorial for girls to practice their stage make-up on Sunday Nov. 10th following the full cast run through.  She will talk through the colors and application with the girls. If they would like to attend they are welcome to bring their own makeup or use the studio´s. Below is the make-up that they will be using for the show.  It is not required that they have all of their own make-up (just the items we cannot use disposable applicators for) however many girls like having their own make-up and applicators to work with and it helps them keep it more hygienic for themselves.
Required:
Any waterproof liquid eye liner (Black)
Any eye liner pencil (Black)
Any waterproof mascara (Black)
Optional:
Applicators - eye shadow brush, blush brush, powder brush
NYX eye liner pencil (Cottage Cheese): https://www.nyxcosmetics.com/jumbo-eye-pencil/NYX_001.html?cgid=root

HAIR:
For dress rehearsals and performances, hair is to be in a close-to-the-head flat bun (no "doorknobs"!). Use hair net and bobby pins. Hair should be prepped with water, gel, mousse, etc. Come to the studio/theater with hair already up.
*
Angels & Soldiers need hair in a high bun (but not at the top of the head!) very much like the one in the photo left, because of the headpiece they will wear.
*
Note: This is the customary & appropriate way to have hair up for all ballet lessons as well.
